Broadway First School is a 'Good' School
In December 2016 Ofsted visited our school and judged all areas to be 'Good'. You can read a full copy of our report here.
If you would like to see the impact that the changes we have made to teaching and learning have made to children's attainment please take a look at our summary of national data from 2014 to 2016:
Whilst we are delighted with the report and the many successes that it notes, we are not complacent and are always looking for ways to make our school even better for our children.
Our targets for this year therefore include:
- To move to a ‘no glass ceiling’ approach to differentiation. This means that lessons have a series of challenges with increasing difficulty – and all levels of challenge are open to all pupils. Consequently, children will feel more empowered in their learning, working with greater independence, challenging themselves and therefore achieving more academically and personally.
- To build on our focus on being healthy (for example, promoting and facilitating physical activity throughout the day) we are now looking towards healthy eating. We want all children to have a clear understanding of healthy eating so we are putting in a programme of support and rewards for healthy meals at lunchtimes.
- To roll out Forest School provision for all year groups following Miss Boulton’s completion of training.
- To build on our already recognised links with parents by continuing to provide Inspire Workshops, Book and Biscuits, celebratory assemblies, family lunches, information sessions and look for opportunities for parents to become involved in school life.
These targets have evolved from our knowledge of our school, and the Strategic Vision set by the Governing Body.
