Houses
At Broadway First, our Houses system helps primary children feel connected, supported, and proud to belong. Each pupil is placed into a House and takes part in a range of school activities designed to build teamwork, good sportsmanship, and confidence. The Houses are named to reflect local heritage and community values, helping children understand that learning and achievement can be shared and celebrated together. Look out for the total number of points earned each week on the front of our Newsletter!
Our Houses are Lygon (Yellow), Russell (Red), Morris (Blue), and Eadburgha (Green). Throughout the year, children may earn points for positive behaviour, effort in lessons, helping others, and participating in events. These points contribute to House totals and encourage pupils to aim high, support one another, and take part in school life in a meaningful way. Parents are also welcome to celebrate successes and ask staff how their child is getting on.
We believe the House system supports wellbeing as well as learning by giving pupils a sense of identity and belonging. Staff use House opportunities to reinforce school values such as respect, responsibility, and kindness, while also creating an inclusive environment where every child can contribute.
